I can write a love poem, if I do say so myself, and would be disappointed to receive such in return. Those philosophers were often a wretched bunch. It's unfortunate how little they appear to offer the women in their lives, and yet the women kept coming--beating their heads against the patriachal nonsense. I worked with a pharmacist who once spent an entire shift writing a poem to thank his wife for baking him a cake--now that is a poem to receive. I did not begrudge having to take up the work slack.

Sorry to spam your comments, but I just discovered your Substack and am catching up. I recognized your name from having bought a few magazines during a period when I was desperately poor in overly-expensive Seattle and did not have a phone or internet. They provided quite a bit of entertainment and thought. I spent a lot of time scribbling on the pages and having major and minor argument with the articles. So, thanks!

I'm always very pleased to see your comments. I know Seattle--I like the city. Thanks for supporting the magazine, it's appreciated!

You're so polite, but I hope I am actually not too annoying. I actually had a very long rant about Richard Dawkins, but I censored myself. You're welcome. :)
